Hanging out together in winter

Winter is the time that most seminars are organized, most preparation take place and many other events for groups are held. That is why Hostelling International Slovenia would like to help you with tips for carrying out your planned activities for a price, which will not make the potential participants turn away. Our network consists of almost 50 hostels in all parts of Slovenia and in December we've decided to present a few of them, which will make sure you'll get a group friendly price for your activities.

HI Finland; www.hihostels.fi
The only hostel within the national park in Slovenia (the national park Triglav) is Koča Suha, which will gladly welcome your group. They can take in smaller groups, as they are a typical wooden cabin, but with all the modern equipment. Next is hostel, also made of wood. It’s the newly built passive eco-friendly construction in Ravne na Koroškem. Both hostels have that cosy feeling that only wood can provide and is even more noticeable in winter. Next on the list is Youth Hostel Idria, which is located in a Slovenian town with the same name, which is on the UNESCO world heritage list. The hostel offers quality stay with the option of meals. Very close to the triple boarder between Slovenia, Austria and Italy is the hostel Bovec, from where you can catch a skiing bus that takes you to the Italian ski slopes of Sella Neve. The hostel also features enough common rooms for various group activities. As the hostel and the town are near the former frontline of the World War (the first one), you will see many marks the tragedy had left on the landscape. The University City of Maribor also offers various possibilities, so let us invite you to the newly built hostel of Pekarna, which stands on the premises of a former army barracks, which used to be the bakery first for the Austro-Hungarian army and later for the Yugoslavian People’s Army. The hostel is just a few minutes form the city centre and can prepare all types of food.
