Beautiful spring in Slovenia

A holiday in Slovenia is always a good idea. Especially when it gets a little warmer, the flowers are starting to bloom, the birds are chirping. Could we paint a prettier picture in your mind? I think not. If you’re from Portugal and want to visit Slovenia, you’ve come to the right place. No, there are still no direct flights from Portugal to Slovenia with a low-cost airline, but there is one to Milano, which is very close to Slovenia. You can get from Porto to Milan Bergamo for as little as 44 euros. This sounds like a great deal, right? You can search for dates that suit you on Ryanair website.

From Milan to Slovenia, you can rent a car (which is great for discovering the whole country) or go by GoOpti, which can be very cheap if it is booked in advance. Now your Slovenian adventure can begin. Are you ready? If you find an accommodation in Ljubljana, it will be a good starting point for discovering other Slovenian places, as it lies almost in the middle of the country. Hostel Tresor in Ljubljana lies right in the heart of the city and has a really special vibe. And if you’re renting a car, I suggest you book the hostel Tabor Ljubljana, which offers free parking and even breakfast. It is also suitable for bigger groups. If you don’t know what to do in our capital city, read this wonderful article, which will give you an insight on what to visit. Since I was talking about spring before, I simply have to take you to the nature. Bled is Slovenian most visited city by tourists and with a reason. This is the home of the best Slovenian dessert, Bled cream cake or in Slovenian, “kremšnita”, which you have to try. You can just enjoy the sunny day, beautiful greenery around you and mountains nearby. I suggest spending at least a few days in this area, so book hostel Bledec and enjoy in the nature. Visit Vintgar gorge, listen to the sound of the river and put your toes in the water and see how cold it is. You can go rafting, canyoning, hiking and so much more. If you want options for activities, definitely check out Igor Fabjan’s article.

Another amazing destination for a Slovenian trip is Logarska Valley, which will amaze you with its untouched nature. You can find an accommodation in hostel Ljubno ob Savinji. Ljubno ob Savinji was described as paradise on Earth. A town by Savinnja river is very proud of their ski jump, try the Slovenian salami, Savinjski Želodc or potica cake (but definitely not together). Ljubno is a great starting point for visiting Snow Cave or Snežna jama, go to the rafting museum, to the ski resort Golte or to Potočka Zijalka Museum. The choice is yours!

Welcome spring in Slovenia.
